Senior Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst

Overview:

The Senior NOC Analyst is a critical role responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining the health and performance of our complex network infrastructure as well as client networks. This position requires a deep understanding of network protocols, network devices, and network management tools. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to network maintenance, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor network performance metrics, including bandwidth utilization, latency, and packet loss.
  • Respond to network alarms and incidents in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Use diagnostic tools to monitor and evaluate the health of clients' IT environments, addressing alerts promptly
  • Diagnose, perform root-cause analysis and resolve network issues including hardware, software, and configuration problems.
  • Configure and maintain circuits, vendor relationships, network devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation.
  • Participate in network projects including new client onboarding including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments.
  • Work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and collaborate with peers to enhance team capabilities and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in network operations.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, FTP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Experience with network devices from vendors like Arista, Cisco, and Juniper, or Arista.
  • Proficiency in network management tools. ScienceLogic a plus)
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • CCST, CCNA or CCNP certification preferred.
