Summary/Objective

We are seeking a dedicated leader to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. The NOC Manager will be supporting a Network Operations Center team collectively working to maintain Network stability ensuring Performance Work Standards. This role will work closely with other teams and departments to ensure that the network is reliable, secure, and meets the needs of our business and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversite and guidance to a team of technical experts that are responsible for supporting Network infrastructure operations in coordination with the NOC Lead.
  • Operate in a constantly evolving environment, adapting quickly to new information and re-prioritizing as needed. Change is a constant at Vantage Point as we support our rapid growth.
  • Collaborate with team members across the networking, managed services, and IT security groups
  • Define and document metrics to judge efficiency and effectiveness of Incident Management Process
  • Surveillance and Fault Management – Core network oversight, including monitoring segments of core distribution, and access networks.
  • Report on previous business day’s Network Operations Center call volume and SLAs
  • Create, update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, Technical User Guides, and Customer Contact Database. Conduct quarterly reviews of all documents
  • Develop Method of Procedures (MOP), configuration scripts, and supporting documentation for scheduled network maintenance
  • Coordinate, advance, and/or resolve operational system/application/network events that have the potential of negatively impacting system and application availability to the user community
  • Identify strategic changes of teams’ workflow where automation and process changes can be made to gain efficiency

Education

  • A bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in computer science, telecommunication engineering, information technology or a related field.
  • Various Network and Security certifications desired (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, ITIL)

Skills

  • 7-10 years of demonstrated ability in network administration, network engineering, or network troubleshooting
  • 3 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably within a Network Operations Center
  • Knowledge of network protocols including BGP, OSPF, ISIS, VLANs
  • Skilled in networking concepts, IP addressing, VLANs, and routing protocols
  • Good knowledge of DHCP, DNS, Disaster recovery and High availability using industry standards.
  • Demonstrated history of optimally leading and mentoring teams
  • Prior experience managing ticket escalations and coordinating support
